dc.description.abstractThe brake-by-wire(BBW) system, which is also called the EMB(Electro-Mechanical Brake) system, has become a promising vehicle braking control scheme because the EMB units are lighter in weights and have faster response compared to conventional hydraulic brake units. However, when implementing to the vehicle, the fault detection and diagnosis becomes increasingly important for the robust BBW system. In this study, EMB fault diagnosis system is developed for monitoring the brake status based on the nonlinear parity space method. At first, modeling of EMB system including PMSM(Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor) was carried out. Also, the model based fault diagnosis algorithm is verified through the closed loop simulation.-
