- Abstract
- The feasibility of marine controlled-source Electromagnetic (mCSEM) monitoring for CO2 sequestration could be evaluated by the analysis of EM responses due to injected CO2. However, its capability for the real CO2 sequestration case should be verified by the inversion approach with reasonable monitoring scenario. In this study, we developed a 2.5D mCSEM inversion algorithm and analyzed integrated sensitivity for successful inversion. Based on the result of sensitivity analysis, 2.5D inversion is applied to horizontal CO2 injection model with reasonable a priori information of the monitoring. In addition, we exploited modified secondary (MS) field method and sharp boundary constraint in inversion to enhance the resolution of our inverse problem.
