dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to evaluate seismic performance of bracing members with and without infilling concrete, and assess the effect of concrete filled in braces on improvement of their seismic performance. For this purpose, this study utilizes a physical theory model to simulate the hysteresis curve of concrete-filled HSS(Hollow Structural Section) bracing members and a fracture model representing the fracture generated due to low cycle fatigue. Using the analytical model, dynamic analysis is performed to obtain the collapse strength ratio and ductility for 1-story braced frames. By comparing the analytical results of braced frame having concrete-infilled HSS braces with that of braced frame having HSS braces, this study evaluates the degree of their seismic performance improvement due to the effect of infilling concrete in the braces.-
