dc.description.abstractThe trend in automotive industry is to replace hydraulic systems wit h electronic systems. As EV(Electric Vehicle) was developed, th e EMB(Electro Mecha nical Brake), which shows better response and control performance, became very important. This paper focuses on modeling of the EMB 3D simulator using simulation and experimental results. The EMB 3D simulator consists of gear b ox, screw-nut, pad, floa ting caliper and disk. The input is th e motor torque, and output is a brake clamping force. This can be considered as modified caliper, since the caliper stiffness is included. The modeling process was carried out using RecurDyn, a MBD(MultiB ody Dynamics) software. The EMB 3D simulator can be used for fault diagnosis of brake control-
