dc.description.abstract | Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) and Cloud Computing(CC) are considered as core concepts in enterprise IT management. However, there exist different understandings and confusion on the relationship of two concepts in practices. To help clear understanding of two concepts, the paper provides the comparision of SOA and CC based on a multi-facetted framework. The multi-facetted comparison framework consists of 3+1 perspectives: architecture, technology, business, and overall perspective. Based on multi-facetted comparison of two concepts, we try to provide implications and suggestions on how to utilize the concepts cooperatively to advance enterprise information systems. In business perspective, SOA and CC pursue different goals in terms of IT resources management strategy. However, two concepts can give benefits mutually. In technical perspective, current standards and technologies of SOA can be applied to enhance the technical level of CC. | - |
