Abstract
Cement is considered one of the most important building materials around the world. However, The cement industry contributes 5% of total global carbon dioxide emissions by cement production. There are many research about concrete of carbon emission reduction. In this research, concrete was modified for a new direction for CO2 capture and storage by using CO2 philic sorbent. Thermogravimetric analyses was used to estimate CO2 absorbtion quantity. Through the X-ray diffractometry, we found various CaCO3 crystal structures in concrete. Additionally, we confirmed the depth of concrete carbonation by phenolphthalein test. In this research, concrete that has CO2 binding sorbent was evaluated for carbon capture and storage.
