Abstract
We examined the optimal shape of blades and efficiency of a self-power generator when the self-power generator using flow of the water in pipe as the power source was installed. Selected factors were the pitch angle, hammer effect and the pressure difference. GAMBIT2.4 was used as a modeling program, FLUENT6.3, which is computational fluid dynamics simulation program, was used as an analytical model. As the analysis method, multiple potating reference frame model was applied. Consequently, when the pitch of blades was increased, the efficiency and RPM were enhanced. The limit of pitch angle was 50 degree due to hammer effect. In case of optimal blade, the efficiency was increased by 36.84 % and the pressure difference was decreased by 3.5%.
