Abstract
This letter presents a band-selectable LNA with high gain and low noise in 0.25-mu m RF CMOS technology. The proposed reconfigurable LNA uses two techniques: optimized spiral inductors and a switched capacitor technique. The gain and noise figure of the LNA are improved by using Q-factor optimized inductors, which are designed with an octagonal shape having a peak Q-factor at desired frequency bands. The high Q-factor of the switched capacitor in parallel configuration at the load also increases the gain of the band-selectable LNA.
