dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of a deep vertical shaft with corrugated steel plate. A vertical shaft is a part of the underground tunnel structure and connects the underground tunnel and the ground vertically. Recently, the interest in seismic design has been increasing due to the Pohang and Kyungju earthquakes which occurred in 2016 and 2017 respectively. However, there is a lack of the research on seismic performance of vertical shaft because vertical shafts have not been considered in seismic design in Korea tunnel design specifications. Therefore, in this study, the seismic analysis was performed by both the response displacement method and the 3-D time history analysis, and the seismic performance was evaluated.-
