dc.description.abstractA nonlinearity of high power amplifier (HPA) introduces AM/AM and AM/PM distortions so that the transmitted signal is deteriorated. Also, I/Q phase and amplitude unbalances, and phase error lead to performance degradation when we implement a practical two-dimensional (2-D) modulation system. In this paper, we provide a general expression to exactly evaluate, regardless of a priori probabilities, the error probabilities of arbitrary 2-D modulation with I/Q amplitude and phase unbalances and phase error in a nonlinear additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel by using the coordinate rotation and shifting techniques.-
