근대를 위한 몸짓: 바로크 시대의 춤과 음악

Abstract

바로크시기를 통하여 ‘춤음악’은 춤‘음악’으로 변한다. 이러한 변화는 이 시기에 일어난 서구의 근대화 과정을 반영한다. 바로크 시대의 춤은 17세기에 생겨난 정교한 무보법의 개발에 힘입어 안무가의 의도를 반영하는 복잡한 춤으로 변한다. 보다 복잡한 이 시기의 춤은, 당대의 기본 교양을 넘어서 인식의 틀로 작용한 수사학의 영향을 받아 드라마를 가진 것으로 변한다. 18세기 초 중반의 춤‘음악’은 수사학과 춤의 영향을 받고 춤의 기본적인 의미소를 수사학적창안법으로 삼아 춤 없이도 의미를 전달할 수 있는 자율적인 음악의 단초를 이룬다.
