- Abstract
- Optimization procedure for the design of interior PM motors based on level-set based topology optimization is presented. The nonlinear ferromagnetic material boundary is represented by a level set function and the movement is driven to reduce the torque ripple while maintaining the target operational torque with the motor volume constraint for the wide speed range operation. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology has been shown on optimal configurations of a traction motor of hybrid electric vehicle.
