dc.description.abstractWe propose a scheme to generate entangled coherent states. We utilize the cross Kerr nonlinearity to generate superposed coherent states which can be easily transformed to entangled states. The generated states have definite photon number characteristic which gives the states discrete nature, thus, it can simulate maximally entangled states of two d-level quantum systems effectively. We also discuss possible applications utilizing the states.-
