dc.description.abstractA novel low-profile metal-plate monopole antenna with system ground for DTV signal reception in the UHF band is proposed. The monopole antenna is easily constructed by a folded rectangular patch with two slits, and has a compact size of 65 × 25 × 5 mm3. The ground plane of this antenna is made of FR-4 substrate (thickness of 0.8 mm). The measured return loss for the operating frequencies over the DTV band (465 -850 MHz) is better than -10dB and maximum radiation gain is 4.5 dBi. The geometrical parameters and the experimental results of the proposed antenna are discussed.-
