| dc.description.abstract | Internet of Things (IoT) shares and collects data on existing systems. IoT applications are changing our daily lives a lot. In this situation, IoT devices may exchange private data. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the collected data from unauthorized nodes. Groups can be formed to allow only authenticated nodes to access data so that they can use the data. In this paper, all group nodes share data with a secure communication link through the same key. This key is generated by the elected leader, and shared among all group nodes. In particular, the leader is replaced periodically. This is because, if the leader is malicious, the common key is shared with the external node, so that the collected data may be leaked to the unauthorized node. Therefore, the group is managed stably by periodically replacing the leader. We analyze the number of messages according to the leader election, and compare the number of messages according to the number of nodes as well as the number of conflicts. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed energy-based leader election (E-LE) method reduces the number of messages compared to the existing raft. | - |
