The purpose of this study is to consider the suffering of human life on a social level, and what we can do to heal social suffering. I think the current Korean society is an ailing society. Therefore, it can be seen as a condition in need of healing. Based on this awareness of the problem, Chapter 2 will examine social suffering, illness, and healing of human life, and Chapter 3 will examine narrative medicine, oral history, and retelling as a healing methodology. The basic condition for social suffering, that is, healing of illness or suffering, is empathy. Cooperation and solidarity are essential to prepare for the post-endemic society. Therefore, it is an important era for humanities therapy to seek understanding, empathy, and solidarity with the human condition.-
