dc.description.abstract | One of the important components in DC microgrids withhigh penetration of renewable energy sources is a battery energystorage system (BESS). For studying the transient performance of a DC microgrid with a BESS considering the impact of battery bank,this paper firstly builds up mathematical models of a generic DCmicrogrid and a BESS. A comparative study of modal analysisshows that the battery bank dynamic model introduces severalcritical eigenvalues to the DC microgrid system. In addition, a BESS used to regulate the DC bus voltage has an effect on thetransient response of the DC microgrid. Finally, the time-domainsimulation results validate the modal analysis of the DC microgrid. | - |
