dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this study is to propose a centrifugal atomization based liquid desiccant dehumidifier to improve a dehumidification performance without a packing media. The experimental study was performed under the typical summer operating conditions, and the energy saving potential was compared with a conventional liquid desiccant dehumidifier with a packing media-assisted packbed type. Because the small droplet of the solution was atomized into a dehumidifier, the proposed system could be operated as a lower liquid-to-gas ratio (L/G ratio) than the conventional system. The experimental results indicated that the outlet air humidity ratio was 0.012 kg/kg at 0.01 L/G ratio. The simulation results also shows that the conventional system required 0.5 L/G ratio to meet the same dehumidification performance with a proposed system, and the proposed system could save 72% load for the solution and air cooling than a conventional system. | - |
