dc.description.abstractThe ion concentration polarization (ICP) based technologies have been recently receiving spotlight as a promising technology in the field of water treatment and biological/chemical processing. But, various factors still remain to be improved before the technology can acquire major competitiveness in the market. As the means to improve the system, we developed a new ICP-based desalination/preconcentration device using a porous ion exchange structure. With the enhanced ion conduction provided by the ion exchanger, we have confirmed a significant decrease in power consumption. © 2022 MicroTAS 2022 - 26th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences.-
