dc.description.abstractThis study presents a systematic investigation of the operation mechanism of the decoupling inductor in MIMO antennas under characteristic mode analysis, the first of its kind. A general model of two-port shared-diploe MIMO antennas with a decoupling inductor is designed. Meanwhile, a wide operation band with high isolation is obtained by merely using a lumped inductor. An exciting discovery on the coupled mode and decoupling mode has been made, uncovering the coupling phenomenon from the view of characteristic mode.-
