빔 반데키부스(Wim Vandekeybus) 작품에 나타난 연극적 특성에 관한 연구: 「블러쉬(BLUSH)」를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 무용극 관점에서 바라본 빔 반데키부스 작품 「블러쉬(BLUSH)」를중심으로 연극적 특성에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 빔 반데키부스 무용 작품 「블러쉬(BLUSH)」를 바탕으로 빔 반데키부스의 생애 및 울티마베즈 무용단의 창단배경과 예술 성향을 고찰하고, 작품 개요, 작품 주제 및 내용과 작품에 내재된 극적 요소를 실험적 요소와 움직임과 행위로 나누어 작품 「블러쉬(BLUSH)」에 나타난 연극적특성을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 빔 반데키부스의 작품에 나타난 극적 표현성은 무용 작품에 있어서 예술 표현의 더욱 강력한 전달 매체가 되며, 일상적인 관념으로부터 벗어난 비 미학적 요소들을 예술작업에 사용함으로써 미학적 측면을 강조해 온 기존의 안무방법의 틀을 뛰어넘어 관객에게 자극적이고 강렬한 메세지를 던져준다. 빔 반데키부스의 극적이고 실험적 요소들은 다각적인 방법으로 안무에 사용되면서 오늘날 독특한 예술적 영역을 만들고 창조적인 가능성을 고무시키고 있는데 연구의 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the Dramatic characteristics in Wim Vandekeybus' work Blush from the perspective of dance theater. Based on Blush, this study examines Wim Vandekeybus' life, the founding background of his dance company Ultima Vez, and its artistic tendencies. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the work, explores its themes and content, and analyzes its inherent dramatic elements by dividing them into experimental aspects, movement, and action. Through this analysis, it is revealed that the dramatic expressiveness in Wim Vandekeybus' works serves as a powerful medium for artistic expression in dance. By incorporating non-aesthetic elements that deviate from conventional perceptions into his artistic work, Vandekeybus transcends traditional choreographic frameworks that emphasize aesthetic aspects, delivering provocative and intense messages to the audience. His dramatic and experimental elements are employed in choreography through various approaches, establishing a unique artistic domain and inspiring creative possibilities, which highlights the significance of this research.
