고령자의 가구유형별 지역사회 지속거주 의사에 미치는 영향요인 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 급속한 고령화 속에서 고령자의 지역사회 지속거주(Aging in Place) 의사에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증적으로 분석하고, 특히 가구유형별 영향요인의 차별화를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 분석 결과, 주택소유형태와 거주지역은 모든 가구유형에서 공통적으로 지역사회 지속거주 의사에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 노인부부가구의 경우, 자가소유 여부, 주택 만족도, 금융자산 수준, 사회여가문화 및 동호회 활동과 같은 사회참여 가 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부부 간 상호돌봄이 가능하다는 구조적 특성과 함께, 경제적 안정성 및 사회적 관계망이 부부가구의 지속거주 의사를 강화하는 데 중요한 요인으로 작용함을 시사한다. 한편, 노인1인가구는 다양한 변수에 의해 영향을 받는 가장 복합적이고 취약한 집단으로 나타났다. 특히 사회적 고립 및 경제적 불안정에 민감하게 반응하고 있음을 의미한다. 자녀동거가구의 경우 다수의 변수에서 유의성이 낮거나 부(-)의 방향으로 작용하였으며, 노인의 주거 자율성과 자기결정권을 약화시키는 경향이 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 고령자의 지역사회 지속거주 의사 형성에 있어 가구유형별로 상이한 조건과 맥락이 작동하고 있음을 보여주며, 향후 주거복지정책이 가구유형에 따른 맞춤형 접근을 통해 설계되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

This study empirically examined the factors that influence older adults' intention to age in place (AIP) amid Korea's rapid population aging, with a specific focus on variations by household type. The analysis found that housing tenure and residential region significantly impacted AIP intentions across all household types. For elderly couples, factors such as homeownership, housing satisfaction, financial assets, and participation in leisure and social activities positively influenced AIP intentions, indicating that economic stability and social engagement, along with mutual caregiving between spouses, are crucial determinants. Conversely, older adults living alone were identified as the most vulnerable group, affected by various factors including health issues, financial insecurity, and a lack of social trust. Among those living with adult children, most variables showed either no significant effect or negative associations, suggesting a reduced level of autonomy and decision-making power regarding housing. This study emphasizes that the intention to age in place is influenced by household-specific conditions and contexts, highlighting the necessity for tailored housing welfare policies that address the unique needs of different household types.
