청년세대 병동간호사의 좋은 죽음 인식과 임종간호태도와의 관계에서 공감역량의 매개효과

Abstract

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 청년세대 병동간호사의 좋은죽음인식, 공감역량, 임종간호태도의 정도와 변수 간의 관계를 파악하고 좋은죽음인식과 임종간호태도와의 관계에서 공감역량의 매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 연구: 서울시 소재 일개 국공립병원 일반병동에 근무하는 청년세대 간호사 175명을 대상으로 2023년 2월 20일부터 3월 20일까지 자기기입식 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집, SPSS/WIN 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 대상자의 임종간호태도는 좋은죽음인식(r=.22, p=.004), 공감역량(r=.32, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계, 공감역량은 좋은죽음인식(r=.32, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 공감역량은 임종간호태도의 영향요인이며, 좋은죽음인식과 임종간호태도와의 관계에서 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 청년세대 병동 간호사의 긍정적인 임종간호태도 향상을 위해 대학 교육과정과 임상 원내 교육에서 좋은죽음에 대한 내용 뿐만 아니라 공감역량을 강화하는 교육이 필요하다.

Purpose: This study aimed to confirm the mediating effect of compassionate competence in the relationship between perceptions of a good death and end-of-life care attitudes among ward nurses in younger generations. Methods: A total of 175 nurses in their 20s and early 30s who were working in general wards of a public hospital in Seoul were recruited. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire from February 20 to March 20, 2023, and were analyzed using the SPSS version 29.0 program. Results: Participants’ end-of-life care attitudes were positively correlated with perceptions of a good death (r=.22, p=.004) and compassionate competence (r=.32, p <.001), and compassionate competence was positively correlated with perceptions of a good death (r =.32, p<.001). Nurses’ compassionate competence was identified as a significant predictor of end-of-life care attitudes. As a result of the mediation analysis, a complete mediating effect of compassionate competence was confirmed in the relationship between perceptions of a good death and end-of-life care attitudes. Conclusion: To improve positive end-of-life care attitudes among young generation ward nurses, educational initiatives that emphasize compassionate competence, as well as understanding of a good death, are needed in both nursing education and clinical practice.
