| dc.description.abstract | The influence of Tsallis q-entropy on the electron-impact excitation process is derived for a non-extensive plasma. The ionisation probability is obtained as a function of the impact parameter using a semiclassical trajectory analysis. Results indicate that Tsallis q-entropy suppresses the electron-impact ionisation cross-section in a non-extensive plasma. Additionally, the influence of Tsallis q-entropy diminishes as the ratio of the electron temperature to the ion temperature increases. In addition, the influence of Tsallis q-entropy amplifies with increasing projectile electron energy. Furthermore, it is shown that the position of maximum ionisation probability is recessed from the target centre as the q-entropy increases. | - |
