- Abstract
- BSR noise generation from a vehicle should be understood for minimization. BSR noises occur from friction and impact among adjacent components of the vehicle. Analysis of the vehicle vibration behaviors is required to understand the principle of rattle noise generation caused by collision between panels of the vehicle. In this research, a theoretical model by spectral element method was proposed to investigate and predict characteristics of flexural wave propagation in a complex vehicle structure. Algorithms for modeling impact and probabilistic estimation were applied. Probabilistic generation of rattle noise was analyzed with respect to structural properties. The predicted results were verified experimentally by using simplified specimens. The proposed research provides evaluation of rattle noise from jointed parts for minimizing.
