dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we study the joint statistics of partial sums of ordered random variates (RVs) and we apply new results to the outage performance analysis of finger replacement schemes (FRS) for RAKE Receiver in the soft handover region with multiple base stations [1] over independent and identical distributed (i.i.d.) Nakagami-m fading channels. In [1], the proposed method in [2] was applied for performance analysis but this method can not be directly adopted in the case of Nakagami-m fading environments. Therefore, by extending the unified framework to determine the joint statistics of partial sums of ordered RVs over i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels [3] to i.i.d. Nakagami-m fading channels, we first provide some new order statistics results and then present a general comprehensive framework for the outage performance assessment of FRS operating under i.i.d. Nakagami-m fading assumptions. In the view of contribution to ordered statistics, this new statistical results can provide potential solutions of ordered statistics over i.i.d. Nakagami-m fading channels in other advanced wireless communications research topics.. | - |
