Keeping Guidelines for Colonoscopy Surveillance After Polypectomy Is One of the Important Clinical Practices for Detection of High Risk Adenoma or Colorectal Cancer: Results From the KASID Multihospital Database in Korea

Abstract

Optimal surveillance colonoscopy after polypectomy is important to prevent advanced neoplasm. However, it has not been elucidated how nonadherence to surveillance guideline can impact the clinical outcomes yet. This study initially appreciated the applicability of current US surveillance guidelines to Korean patients. Further, this study aimed to evaluate the risk factors for late surveillance and to determine whether nonadherence to surveillance can impact the risk of subsequent advanced colorectal neoplasm.
