dc.description.abstractThis paper proposes adaptive gaussian filtering for noise reduction according to image characteristics. Conventional noise reduction algorithms have been effective for noise reduction, but they have disadvantage in that they blur the edges. The gaussian filter is excellent in noise reduction to some extent, but is poor when it comes to preserving details. To preserve the edges, we propose a method adaptively adjusting the gaussian filter used according to the image characteristics. The objective and subjective experimental results show that the proposed algorithm preserves the edges and performs noise reduction effectively.-
