- Abstract
- A tapered cavity-backed flush-mountable dual mono-cone antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of three main sections: a lower mono-cone, an upper mono-cone, and an exponentially tapered cavity. In order to obtain the high frequency band operation, the upper mono-cone is located inside the lower mono-cone. The circular cavity used in the proposed antenna has a tapered wall for mitigating the deterioration of radiation performances. The proposed antenna has simulated 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 28.32 GHz ranging from 2.21 GHz to 30.44 GHz (173%) and an omni-directional radiation pattern in the operating frequency band. ? 2019 Antenna Branch of Chinese Institute of Electronics.
