| dc.description.abstract | A non-periodic multi-scale topology optimization(MSTO) method formulated with only micro-variable is proposed: “heterogeneous” represents every cell of each macro-scale has its own micro-structure. Theoretically this method is identical to use infinite number of materials, and the expanded design space gives us a chance to find a better solution. However, there is unnecessary duplication in estimating stiffness when macro-variable is introduced to determine the existence of material. Therefore, to avoid this artifact, only micro-variable is used in this paper. In addition, because the domain is partitioned into representative volume elements(RVE), MSTO takes less time than single-scale problem does, and easily is parallelized. L-shaped compliance minimization problem is solved to show the effectiveness of this method | - |
