Abstract
In an LTE system, random access is used for several purposes including initial registration and short message services. In random access procedure, message is transmitted after random access packet transmission. For a remote station, it is important to transmit message with low power consumption as well as random access packet. In this paper, error performance of message is presented with channel-adaptive random access in an LTE system. The results show that channel-adaptive random access can achieve significant performance improvement compared with conventional random access.
