Recently, absorbable atelocollagen matrix is widely used for extraction socket preservation. Compared to other graft materials, absorbable atelocollagen matrix can be inserted easily and inexpensively. Besides protecting wound and accelerating granulation tissue formation, atelocollagen matrix is reported to act as a scaffold for osteoconduction. To examine the role of absorbable atelocollagen matrix on gene expression of osteoblast-like MG63 cells by cDNA microarrays. We identified which expression were widely detected in osteogenesis, signaling transduction, transcription, cell cycle regulation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and immunity. These results showed that absorbable atelocollagen could affect the molecular mechanism underlying bone regeneration with similar clinical effects.-
