Inconel 617 is a candidate material for the high temperature applications such as turbine blades, structural materials for nuclear reactors and hightemperature gas-cooled reactors. In this work, the carbide change and recrystallization behavior of Inconel 617 was studied by cold rolling and heat treatment. The dominant carbide of Inconel 617 was Cr-rich carbide with small amount Mo-rich carbide. The volume fraction of Mo-rich carbide was increased after cold rolling of 50% compared to as-received Inconel 617. At the 50% cold-rolled Inconel 617, recrystallization behavior was carried out by 1000°C, 1050°C, and 1100°C for 1 h. The carbides were formed uniform distribution and fine size after recrystallization. The microstructure and phase analysis of carbide was carried out by BSE, EPMA, OM and XRD. The volume fraction of carbide was calculated by image analyzer. The hardness was measured by Vickers hardness tester.-
