dc.description.abstract연구배경 및 목적: Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma genitalicum, or Ureaplasma urealyticum are important opportunistic pathogens implicated in urogenital infections, PID and complicated pregnancy. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis(CT), Mycoplasma hominis(MH), Mycoplasma genitalicum(MG), or Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU) infection in women with or without gynecologic symptoms. 대상 및 방법: Retrospective search carried out to identify test results from concomitant analyses for cervical CT, MH, MG, or UU (January 2009~June 2009) according to the presence or absence of gynecologic symptoms. 연구결과: Results of PCR were available for 196 women, 79 pregnant and 117 non-pregnant, who took four tests of CT, MH, MG, and UU at the same time. Most of pregnant women took tests as a screening evaluation during early pregnancy, whereas some (N=45) of non-pregnant women has gynecologic symptoms, specifically any vaginal discharge, odor, itching, or dysuria. The prevalence rate was 1% (2/196) for CT, 8.6% (17/196) for MH, 0% (0/196) for MG, and 21% (41/196) for UU. None of patients with CT (+) (N=2) didn`t have any symptoms. Patients with MH (+) were found in 6(7.5%) of pregnant women and 11(9.4%) of non-pregnant women. The MG (+) was not found in this study subjects. Patients with UU (+) were found in 16(20%) and 25(21%) women of pregnant and non-pregnant women, respectively. The prevalence of MH was comparable in pregnant and non-pregnant women, but slightly higher in the women with presenting symptoms (13% vs. 7.3%). Meanwhile, UU was higher than other three infections about 21~22% regardless of accompanying symptoms in both pregnant and non-pregnant group. 결 론: The results showed that CT, MH, MG, or UU infection was usually asymptomatic and they couldn`t be suspected by the presence of symptoms. MH or UU infection is not only responsible for inflammation in the upper genital tract and PID but also is probably one of the causes of serious complicated pregnancy. Therefore, we suggest that screening for UU and possibly MH should be proposed to the women especially, who are pregnant and want to be pregnant regardless of any presenting symptoms.-
