| dc.description.abstract | At Antarctic lake ice microalga grow and thrive in cold channels or pores. In order to understand the low temperature adaptive mechanisms in the present study we used GeneFishing(TM) DEG PCR Technique for comparing the normal and freeze-stressed antarctic ice green microalgae Chlamydomonas sp. In addition, new differentially expressed genes induced by low temperature were identified by sequencing and comparing database. Low CO2 inducible protein in freeze-stressed cells were characterized. This gene of low CO2 inducible protein was up-regulated under freeze-stressed conditions. In differential CO2 condition algae Chlamydomonas sp. was characterized expression profiles of gene and protein using Western and Northern blots. Chlamydomonas sp. was grown in various CO2 bubble conditions(ambient air to 5.0%). Chlamydomonas sp. was shown well-growing in low CO2 bubbling condition. This results give general informations of low temperature adaptive mechanism in Antarctic lake. | - |
