| dc.description.abstract | The synthesis of cyanine dyes have been the subject of several investigations since this class of chromophore was first discovered by C.H.G. Williams. We have found that the chromophore can be achieved in organic solvents with bisaldehyde(1-formyl-3-cyclohexene) and indoline or benzothiazole derivatives, the resultant color dyes can be going to the near-infrared regions. This meant that the cyanine dyes could be used as NIR indicators, enzyme assays, reprographic systems and laser filter with possible functional applications and thus the cyanine chromophore was investigated their potential functional properties in our works. | - |
