dc.description.abstracta short peptide (16 mers) composed of 16 amino acids rather than an antibody has been utilized to selectively detect Anthrax biomarker (Protective antigen, PA) by combining with square wave voltammetry. A peptide of high affinity to PA was immobilized on the surface of gold electrode and allowed to bind PA. The detection of pA captured by an immobilized peptide, was performed using the reduction peak at -30 mV against Ag/AgCI reference electrode. The result presents that a short peptide could successfully replace the role of antibody, that has been widely used to selectively recognize a target biomarker in the field of electrochemical biosensor.-
