dc.description.abstractThe dispersion of the organic phthalocyanine blue pigment (β-Copper phthalocyanine (β-CuPc)) in organic solvent requires the use of dispersant additives. Carboxylic dispersants and block copolymer dispersants was investigated regarding this propose, Dispersion staility of the pigment evaluated by means of intensity of UV/vis spectroscopy and the amoant of sedimentation. As the concentration of the dispersant and temperature of organic solvent was changed, stability of dispersion increased or decreased. Dispersant adsorbs at the surface of pigment while taking a flat conformation with tail and possibly few loops which contributes to the steric stabilization. The consequences of the deflocculation of the suspension are improved stability of the pigment.-
