| dc.description.abstract | A short peptide composed of 16 amino acids rather than an antibody has been utilized to selectively detect Anthrax biomarker by using square wave voltammetry. A peptide of high affinity to PA was immobilized on the surface of gold electrode and allowed to bind PA selectively. The determination was based on the reduction peak at 730 mV for PA captured by a peptide against Aa/AgCI reference electrode; while, the reduction peak of PA itself on the gold surface was located at 680 mV. Using the proposed scheme, PA concentration up to 20 pM could be detected. The result present that a short biomarker in the field of electrochemical biosensor. Future study will be directed to evaluate the reproducibility as well as selectivity, which are required to address for practical applications | - |
