| dc.description.abstract | The goal of this talk is to present a new approach to Cole`s example of a Riemann surface with corona. To do this, we will first discuss the corona problem and some developments related to it, and then will explain Gamelin`s approach to the problem. Our construction is essentially the same as the original one by Cole (late 1970s), but with some modifications that make it very elementary and concrete. If time permits, we will also discuss Hara-Nakai`s theorem for the corona constants of finitely bordered Riemann surfaces. | - |
