| dc.description.abstract | In this work, we have fabricated dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin mono and multilayer films on polycrystalline gold and quartz substrates using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The gold and quartz substrates were cleaned using a UV/Ozone lamp to introduce hydrophilicity prior to deposition of the LB films. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) has been used to analyze the structural compositions of dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin LB films. UV-vis spectroscopy and ellipsometry have been used to measure the absorption and thickness of the LB films, respectively. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and contact angle measurement have been used to analyze the surface morphology of the LB films. We have also investigated the influence of a transfer promoter (arachidic acid) on the deposition characteristics of the dicyanopyrazine-linked porphyrin LB films. | - |
