| dc.description.abstract | To gain a new insight for the mechanical behavior in bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), here we performed instrumented micro-indentation tests with a spherical indenter on the bonded interfaces of Zr- and Pd-based BMGs. Subsequently, the plasticity in the subsurface of the hardness impression was analyzed through nanoindentation. The results are discussed in terms of shear-band formation/propagation as well as possible work softening during indentation experiment. | - |
