| dc.description.abstract | Fe₃O₄ magnetic nanoparticles are made by co-precipitation method. These particles have superparamagnetic behaviour. We use sol-gel method to obtain silica-coated magnetic particles. Because of high affinity between silica and magnetite surface, it is possible to encapsulate magnetic particles with silica directly. Next, the glucose molecules are adsorbed to the silica surfaces by the functional groups of the silica surface. Noble metal is also functionalized with amine groups. IR and UV spectroscopy, TEM, VSM were used to characterize the final product. | - |
