| dc.description.abstract | Microalgae harvested form antarctic ocean were subjected to investigate molecular level research. In this study, Total RNA from Chaetoceros regracile, Fragiliopsis pseudonana, Porosia pseudodenticula and Stellarima microtrias were isolated by using several RNA isolation protocols. From the established methods, total RNA was isolated from these polar diatoms and the purity of RNA was checked by electrophoresis. RNA from Chaetoceros regracile strain which is known to produce antifreezing protein was subjected to produce cDNAs. Chaetoceros regracile cDNAs were generated by RT-PCR and they were amplified with arbitrary primers. PCR based partial cloning of Chaetoceros regracile genes were sequenced and characterized. Putative function of these genes that were isolated from this investigation will be discussed. | - |
