| dc.description.abstract | Based on the observation that In this paper, we investigate that the number of hop count in a lightpath impacts the performance of optical networks, greatly affects the performance of Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA) algorithm. Based on the results, we propose dynamic hop count shifting (DYHOS) algorithm thatwhich can dynamically selectsadjust a route hop count of lightpath depending on hop count of a lightpath according to the volume of the offered traffic load and blocking probability. ratio in the network. The DYHOS algorithm finds an available route while minimizing the waste of network resources. The DYHOS algorithm also increases the network throughput and reduces the blocking probability. Through the computer simulation, we verify the performance of proposed algorithm, where the performance is the blocking probability for the given number of wavelength used. | - |
