dc.description.abstract | A green mixture of blue dextran and orange G dissolved in ethanol solution was used to demonstrate visual separation on a simulated moving bed unit using Optipore L 323 resin. The low cost simulated moving bed unit uses the novel one-STF-valve-per-stream design for a total of four STF valves on the SMB unit. The movement of the colored components can be observed through the glass columns. A fast switching time non-ideal linear standing wave design was used to show visible change. The design was validated with experiments and simulations. | - |
