dc.description.abstractThis study population is a part of participants who were recruited for a cohort to prevent cardiovascular diseases and cancer, a rural area, Yangpyung, Kyunggi-Do, Korea. In 557 individuals aged 18 to 87 years, high-resolution B-mode ultrascound was used to assess the mean intima-media thickness of the rishgt and left common carotid artery were assessed. We found gender difference of related factors to mean IMT. For men, age, smoking, drinking, blood pressure, and cholesterol are associated with increased risk of early atherolsclerosis, however, for women, mean IMT are positively associated with age, fasting glucose, and high LDL cholesterol.-
