We consider quantum teleportation via a noisy quantum channel in a Werner state. Teleportation protocol is optimized with respect to closeness measures, elity and operational distance. The operational distance provides an operational interpretation as a closeness measure. We optimize the average operational distance over all possible pure d-dimensional unknown states by altering von Neumann measurement of maximally entangled states and local unitary operation, when the quantum and classical channels are given. It is found that for the quantum channel in a Werner state the optimal protocol is equivalent to the standard teleportation.-
