| dc.description.abstract | Being an internet era, the rapid transmission of 3D mesh models is getting more important and efforts for the compression of various aspects for mesh modes have been provided. Even though a mesh model is usually defined in terms of coordinates of vertices, topology among the vertices and faces, and other properties such as colors and normals, the compression of topology plays most important part of the compression of others. Despite of the extensive study on Edgebreaker, the most frequently used topology compressor with the rigorously evaluated for its performance, the probability distribution of its five op-codes, C, R, E, S, and L, has never been rigorously analyzed yet. In this paper we present the limiting probabilities of the op-codes which can be useful for the estimation of file compressed file size and the tuning of compression algorithms based on Edgebreaker. | - |
