A case of spinal dural arterio-venous fistula treated by endovascular embolization

Abstract

The vascular malformations of the spine and spinal cord are rare diseases. Possible symptoms may consist of a transient neurological deficit, a progressive sensorimotor transverse lesion or an acute para- or tetraplegia. Damage to the spinal cord occurs mostly by bleeding, space-occupying effects or venous congestion, rarely by steal effects. We report a case of ischemic myelopathy caused by spinal AV fistula, which successively treated by endovascular embolization
